To Seattle and Back (without Asher)

We've just returned from a five day vacation down to Seattle - the first time we've taken off without Asher. It felt strange not having to plan meals and our schedule around our little guy - and we both got to sleep in in the morning! My parents had him for the five days and they did a great job - which gives us confidence to do it again, especially when we have the second one on the way.

During our trip we spent two days at our friend Alex and Rachel's house down in Tacoma, who we had lived with down in Mexico a few years ago. We toured around Seattle with them (they hadn't been in over 10 years), and stayed in the new addition that Alex had just built onto their house (click on their picture for a nice surprise!).

We then took off for two nights at a Hotel/Resort in Tulalip - about 30 minutes north of Seattle. I must say, during our whole marriage we have never stayed in such a nice hotel before - it was beautiful, and comfortable, and it was affordable (they had a weekday deal of two nights for $120 a night). We saw a comedy show at the hotel that night which was good, and then we tried a few of the slots in the casino - which was ok, but everyone was smoking so we took off pretty quickly. The hotel we right beside a huge outlet mall and so we went shopping the next day, and then came home of Friday. We are definitely doing this again!
